Bonfiglio, formerly of Ambler, died Nov. 1,2004 at St. Mary's Manor,
She was 101.
Mrs. Bonfiglio enjoys ceramic classes, traveling and gardening. She
loved to cook, crochet, and make afghans.
Born in Philadelphia, slave was the daughter of the late Peter and Mary
(Scalza) Shorley.
Mrs. Bonfiglio was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Bonfiglio,
in 1948 and her daughter, Grace Santangelo, in 1992.
She worked for Puritans Knitting Mill in Lansdale and as an assembler at
Narco Avionics in Fort Washington, prior to her retirement.
She was a lifelong resident of Ambler and a member of Joseph's Church.
Mrs. Bonfiglio was a active member of Lodge Ruggereo Bonchi (LRB) in
Ambler, where she was honored in 1980 for serving as
corresponding
secretary for 15 years and was given a merit award.
Mrs. Bonfiglio was honored in 1993 with an Outstanding Achievement Award
by state Sen. Stewart Greenleaf for her volunteer work at SAGA in Ambler
and their meals for homebound elderly.
She was a member of St. Alphonsus Senior Citizens.
Mrs. Bonfiglio is survived by a son, Joseph Bonfiglio Lansdale; seven
grandchildren, 16 great-grand-children, three sisters, Betty Wallen of
Ambler, Barbara Wade of Binghamton, N.Y., and Jackie Camp of California.
Relatives and friends may call Nov. 4, from 9 to 10 a.m. at St. Mary's
Manor 701 Lansdale Ave., Lansdale, with as funeral Mass at 10 a.m. of
Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Norristown.
Remembrances in Mrs. Bonfiglio's name may be made to St. Joseph's Church
16 of Spring Garden St., Ambler, PA 19002.
