Dominic S. Pugliese of Ambler died
Saturday at the home of his daughter, Roseann P. Miles, in Lansdale
after an illness. He was 73.
He was the husband of Jennie M. "JoAnn"
(Isabella) Pugliese, who preceded him in death in 2001.
Born in the province of Colabria, Italy,
he was the son of the late Pasquale and Maria Rosa (LaRuffa) Pugliese.
Mr. Pugliese was a graduate of Ambler
High School, Class of 1949.
He had worked as a carpenter apprentice
for the former Emery Kertesz in Ambler from 1949 to 1951.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951
to 1955, during the Korean War.
After his military service, he went to
work as a tool maker for Standard Pressed Steel in Jenkintown, now known
as SPS Technologies, where he worked for 38 years and retired as a tool
method engineer in 1993.
Mr. Pugliese was an avid golfer and
bowled for many years in leagues with SPS Technologies and St. Anthony
Roman Catholic Church in Ambler. He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua
Roman Catholic Church, also in Ambler.
In addition to his daughter, Roseann, he
is survived by his son-in-law, Rich Miles, of Lansdale, and his
daughters, Debora M. Barreca and her husband, George and Patricia L.
Higgins and her husband, John, all of Ambler. Also surviving are eight
grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and three brothers, John
Pugliese of Ambler, Joseph Pugliese of Blue Bell and Pasquale Pugliese
of Collegeville.
Relatives and friends are invited to call
from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 to 10:15 a.m. Thursday at Anton B.
Urban Funeral Home, 1111 S. Bethlehem Pike, Ambler. Funeral Mass will be
celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in
Ambler with the Rev. Monsignor Stephen P. McHenry, pastor of St.
Anthony's Church as celebrant. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre
Cemetery in Cheltenham.

St. Anthony of Padua Church Rebuilding Fund, 259 Forest Ave., Ambler, PA
