Charles J. Winslow

Charles J. Winslow, 80 of Jarrettown, PA., died Friday in the Abington Memorial Hosp. Abington, PA. after an illness.

Born in Philadelphia, PA. (12-17-1923), he was the son of the late Casamir and the late Helen (nee Gozis) Winslow.  He served in the Army from 07-03-1943 to 04-04-1946 in the European, African,& Middle Eastern Campaigns.

In the 1940’s he owned & operated Niblock’s Restaurant in Ambler for 17 years. After closing the Restaurant he went to work with his brother in law at Fred's Used Auto Parts in Jarrettown prior to his retirement in 1985.

Mr. Winslow was a member of St. Alphonsus Church  Maple Glen, Pa., Knights of Columbus Notre Dame Council # 3843. He was a former owner of Race Horses at the Ed Hoopes Stables in Jobestown, NJ. and an Honorary Life member of the Pennsylvania Auto Recycling Trade Association and a member of the American Legion.

He is survived by his Wife Mary E. Winslow of Jarrettown, PA., his Daughter Marilyn A. (Peter D.) Messina of Pittsburg, PA. and Sons Charles J. (Jeanine M.) Winslow, Jr. of Warminster, PA. and Wayne A. Winslow of Dresher, PA. also survived by 8 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren.

Relatives & Friends may call Tuesday from 9:00 to 10:30 AM at Queen Of Peace Church North Hills Ave. & Fitzwatertown Road Ardsley. Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM with the Rev. Msgr. Thomas Owens Pastor of St. Alphonsus Church in Maple Glen, Pa. as celebrant.  Interment will be in St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont.

Remembrances in his name to  St. Alphonsus Church, 33 Conwell Dr., Maple Glen, Pa.  19002 would be appreciated by the family.
