Marcella F. Erwin

Marcella F. Erwin, 84 of Ambler PA., died Tuesday in the Abington Memorial Hospital Abington, PA. after an illness.

Born in Philadelphia, PA. (10-21-1920) she was the daughter of the late Charles and the late Elizabeth (nee White) Bernhardt, Jr.  Mrs. Erwin was preceded in death by her husband Benjamin F. Erwin, III in 1978.

Mrs Erwin was a homemaker who along with her  husband operated Erwin’s appliance and electronics repair on Lindenwold Avenue in Ambler prior to his death. She later worked at Ambler Rest Center as a housekeeping supervisor and as a clerk at the Ambler Variety Center before her retirement in 1990.

Mrs. Erwin was a member of St. Anthony Of Padua Church Ambler, PA.

She is survived by two sons, Benjamin F. (Karen) Erwin, IV, of Lower Gwynedd, Charles Joseph Erwin of Ambler, PA; two daughters, Marcella F. Gates of Owens Mills, MD, Dolores (Les) Sommers of Palm Harbor, FL; 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. 

Relatives and friends may call Saturday from 11:00 to 12:00 PM at St. Anthony Of Padua Church, Forest Ave. and Hendricks St. Ambler with a Funeral Mass at 12:00 PM with Rev. Msgr. Stephen P. McHenry, Pastor, as celebrant.  Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham.

 Remembrances in her name to  St. Anthony Of Padua Church, 259 Forest Ave., Ambler, PA.  19002 would be appreciated by the family.
