Arthur Haggar, Jr

Arthur “Bear” Haggar, Jr.  61 of Fort Washington PA., died Saturday in the Abington Memorial Hospital Abington, PA. after a brief illness.

Born in Abington, PA. (04-05-1943), he was the son of the late Arthur and the late Dorothy (nee Nankerville) Haggar. 

Mr. Haggar was a graduate of Upper Dublin High School Class of 1962.

He served in the US Army May 17, 1966 to May 8, 1968 during the Vietnam War serving in Da Nang during the Tiet Offensive.

He was a Welder, employed by Boiler Erection Company in Ambler for 30 years prior to his retirement in 2002, he had also worked for Upper Dublin Township for a number of years.

Mr. Haggar was a member of Fort Washington Fire Company where he held the status of Life Active and VFW Post # 1711 in Doylestown.

He is survived by a Sister-in-law, Kathryn Sharkey Haggar of Oreland, PA; two nephews David G. (Sandra) Haggar of Fort Washington, PA, Keith R. (Diane) Haggar of Abington, PA; two nieces, Karen T. (Francis) Junod of    Glenside, PA, Melissa L. (Thomas) Joyce  Glenside, PA; an uncle George Haggar of Fort Washington, PA and grand nieces and nephews, Kerri and Chris Haggar, Ashley &  Kevin Junod, and Delaney Joyce. He is also survived by his best friend Mickey, his dog.

He was predeceased by his brother, George R. Haggar in 2001 and uncle James Haggar.

Funeral services and Interment in Rose Hill Cemetery, Ambler was held privately.
