 Joann DelConte

Joann DelConte, 72 died Friday June 23rd at her home in Ambler, PA. after a courageous battle with cancer. 

Born in Logan, WV., she was the daughter of the late Guy F. and the late Lona (nee Smith) Gore.  Mrs. DelConte was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years James V. DelConte in 2000.

She was a Waitress, employed by Delīs Sandwich Shop In Ambler For 25 Years and retired in 1991

Mrs. DelConte was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Wissahickon Fire Company in Ambler. After retiring she enjoyed traveling across the US and being at home with her family and Grandchildren.

She is survived by 5 daughters, Brenda K. Moore, Linda (Bob) McClelland, Vera L. (Gary) Gearhart of  Ambler, Sharon (Bob) Evanick of  Lansdale, Karen  Spiegel of Cleveland, OH; a son, James V. DelConte, Jr. of Red Hill, PA; 19 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren. She is also survived by eight sisters and a brother; Polly  Pack of Sevierville, TN, Mary  Zemlansky of Lansdale, PA, Lana  Randan of Proctorville, OH, Jenny  Jeffrey of Proctorville, OH, Ruth  Lycans of  Proctorville, OH, Helen  Costner  of Huntington, WV, Peggy  McComas of Huntington, WV, Judy  Lambert of Farelsburg, WV and Simon D. Gore of South Point, OH.

Relatives & Friends may call Wednesday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM and Thursday 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Anton B. Urban Funeral Home 1111 S. Bethlehem Pike, Ambler, with a Funeral service at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Thomas Byron officiating.  Interment will be in George Washington Memorial Park, Plymouth Meeting.
