Edward J. Haggerty

 

Edward J. Haggerty, 77 of Ambler PA., died Friday in the Abington Memorial Hospital Abington, PA. after an illness.

 

Born in Philadelphia, PA., he was the son of the late Joseph and the late Teresa (nee Taggart) Haggerty.  Mr. Haggerty was preceded in death by his wife Ethel A. (nee Alexander) Haggerty in 1997.

 

He served in the US Navy from May, 1941 to November 1945 as a chief Yeoman.

 

He was a Personnel Director, at the Philadelphia Veterans Hospital prior to his retirement.

 

Mr. Haggerty was a member of St. Alphonsus Church in Maple Glen.

 

He is survived by his sister Mary T. Quinn of Roslyn, PA and several nieces and nephews.

 

Relatives, Friends and Co workers of the Philadelphia VA Hospital are invited to call Tuesday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at St. Alphonsus Church, Maple Glen with a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Msgr. Thomas Owens as Celebrant  Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham.

 

Remembrances in his name to  Convent of Divine Love (Pink Sisters) 2212 Green St. Phila., PA,  19130-3197 would be appreciated by the family.
