Jean A. Henderson
Jean A. Henderson, formerly of Wayland, Ma. and Vero Beach Fl., died
Tuesday at Dock Terrace, Lansdale, PA. after an illness. She
was one year older than her friend Louise.
Born in St. Johns, Newfoundland, she was the daughter of the late
Augustus and the late Edith (nee Parsons) Bradbury.
She was a Project Manager, employed by U.S. Army at the Natick
Laboratories in Massachusetts prior to her retirement.
In the late 80’s she was a Charter Member and Secretary of the
Indian River Land Trust which was formed to preserve the remaining
18 acres of the McKee Jungle Garden, now the McKee Botanical
Garden. She was a member of the “Saturday Morning Gang” and an
active neighbor and advocate.
She was an avid golfer and worked as a ranger at Vista Meadows Golf
Course in Vero Beach. She also did extensive china painting and
loved to travel.
Mrs. Henderson was preceded in death by her husband James R.
Henderson in 1983.
She is survived by her son James M. Henderson and daughter-in-law
Madeline Henderson of Royersford, Pa., her granddaughters Annie
Henderson of San Francisco and Kathy Henderson and her fiancé Peter
Grech of Las Vegas, NV.. she is the loving sister of Lorne Bradbury
of Clinton, NY., Ethel Gardner of London, Ont. Canada, Ada Hyslop of
Halifax, Nova Scotia, Anne Wetzel of Mallets Bay, Vermont and the
late Roy Bradbury and Gwen Montgomery.
Funeral and interment will be in Wayland, Ma.
