        Mary Elizabeth Delea

 Mary Elizabeth Delea, 78 a three year resident of Ambler, PA, died Tuesday July 17, 2007. She died on July 17, 2007 at the Dresher Hill Health and Rehabilitation Center in Dresher, PA. where she had been a patient for the last 6 months. 

Born in Rock Hall, MD she was raised in Baltimore Maryland. She was the daughter of the late Lewin S. Blackiston and the late Catherine Z. Toyer (nee Harrison) and the step-daughter of Frank Toyer. 

She moved to the home of her daughter and son-in-law, (Elizabeth & Richard Komins) with her husband, Louis E. Delea, in March of 2004, after being diagnosed a few years earlier with Alzheimer's. 

While she worked part time as a secretary to a judge and then an administrative assistant for a social work and research center  at John's Hopkins in Baltimore until 1958, the majority of her life was spent as a homemaker.  She had a life long interest and passion in the piano, which she taught herself and loved to play. She loved singing old standards and show tunes. She also loved gardening, writing spiritual poetry and seeing her grandchildren grow up. 

She is survived by her husband, Louis E. Delea; daughters Elizabeth T-D (Richard) Komins of Ambler and Kathyrn L. (William) Busch of Berthoud, CO; 3 Grandchildren (Sarah & Mollie Komins and Chris(Katrina) Wiese), 2 step-grandchildren (Lisa Perry & Michelle Wiese) her brother Bill Toyer and step-brother Lewin S. Blackiston, III.

She was predeceased by her son, Jeremiah F. Delea in 1981.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Memorial Service on Sunday, August 12, 2007 at 12:30 PM at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Delaware County in Media, PA. <www.UUCDC.org> Internment will be private. 

Remembrances in her name to the Alzheimer's Association <www.alz.org> 399 Market St., Suite 102, Phila, PA 19106 and/or Odyssey Health Care (Hospice Organization) 512 Township Line Road, Valley Bldg. 2, Suite 305 Blue Bell, PA 19422 would be appreciated by the family.
