Joseph J. Elmo

Joseph J. Elmo, 84 of Blue Bell died Sunday in Chestnut Hill Hospital. 

Born in Conshohocken, he was the son of the late Frank and Rachael (nee Forte) Elmo.  

He was a Steel Manufacturing Foreman employed by Allen Wood Steel for 24 years until its close.  He was then employed by Hale Fire Pump in Conshohocken for 10 years until he retired in 1986. 

Mr. Elmo was a Plank Member of the USS New Jersey Veteran's Inc., and a member of St. Helena's Church.  He was also a graduate of St. Matthew’s High School Class of 1941. 

He is survived by his Son Ronald (Dottie) Elmo of Worcester and grandchildren Tina, Joe, Stephanie, Ronnie, and Michael. He is also survived by a daughter-in-law Debbie Elmo of Blue Bell and a dear friend Gladys Hyland of Blue Bell. He was predeceased by his wife Helen R. (nee Piacitelli) Elmo in 1991 and his son Joseph J. “Skip” Elmo in 2006. 

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, November 23, 2007 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. at the Anton B. Urban Funeral Home, 1111 S. Bethlehem Pike, Ambler and Saturday, November 24, 2007 at St. Helena’s Church Yost Rd. and Dekalb Pike (Rt. 202) in Blue Bell from 9 to 10 AM.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM.  Entombment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Norristown.   

Remembrances in his name to Artman Home Benevolent Fund 250 N. Bethlehem Pike. Ambler, PA 19002 would be appreciated by the family.
