James H. Gardner Jr.

James H. Gardner Jr., 85 formerly of Flourtown and N. Wildwood, NJ. died Thursday in the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital Philadelphia, PA. 

Born in Wyndmoor, PA, he was the son of the late James H.  Sr. and Flora (nee Kuntzler) Gardner.

He served in the US Army Air Corps during WW II where he was awarded 3 Bronze Stars. After discharge he joined the US Navy and naval reserve for 31 years.

He was a Banker, employed by the former American Bank in Norristown prior to his retirement in 1985.

He was an avid fisherman

He is survived by his Wife of 61 years Mary B. (nee Bishop) Gardner of Ambler, PA. and his Son James H. Gardner, III and his wife Tish of Horsham, PA. He was the loving grandfather of Christen Lee Gardner of Longbeach, NY and Paul James "PJ" Gardner of Horsham, PA. 

Relatives and friends may call Saturday September 22, 2007 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. at the Anton B. Urban Funeral Home, 1111 S. Bethlehem Pike, Ambler, with a Funeral Service at 10:30 AM with Rev. Frank Sayford Officiating Interment will be in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Prospectville with full military honors. 

Remembrances in his name to Coast Guard Mutual Assistance, 4200 Wilson Blvd. Suite 1610, Arlington, VA. 22203-1804 would be appreciated by the family.
