Daniel
E. Kirk
March
8, 1929 – July 23, 2007 - Dan passed away on Monday,
July 23 from unforeseen complications from lymphoma.
He was a graduate of
Springfield High School, class of 1947, and attended The
Pennsylvania State University in State College.
He served honorably in the
U.S. Army, Korean War, as a sergeant.
Dan was owner & operator of
Hetler & Kirk, a plaster & stucco-contracting firm based in
Ambler, prior to his retirement.
He was an avid golfer, and
fisherman, but by far his favorite activity was downhill
skiing.
He kept an very active
schedule, including membership in: Fort. Washington
Volunteer Fire Department, since 1945, Sandy Run Golf Club;
Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church; 10th
Mountain Division Association; OFOS Ski Club; Horse Thieves
of America; Avalon Fishing Pier; Fort. Washington Historical
Society; as well as the American Legion, Wm. Bolton Dixon
Post #10 in Fort. Washington.
Dan resided in Ft. Washington
and Avalon, N.J.; with his loving wife, for the past 52
years, Barbara D.(nee Mastalski) Kirk.
Born in Abington he is the
Son of the late Everett T. and Emma (nee Tyson) Kirk.
He was a proud and devoted
father of Karen Kirk Shields of Gulph Mills and Taffy Kirk
Miltz of Lititz. He was also an awesome grandfather for four
grandchildren and the loving brother of Maryann Saurman and
Robert Kirk of Ambler.
Relatives and friends are
invited to his Memorial Service on Friday, July 27th,
at 11am at Trinity Lutheran Church, Spring & Summit Ave.,
Fort. Washington.
Interment will be Private.
In Lieu of flowers,
contributions are being accepted in Dan’s name for the
Trinity Lutheran Church Handicap Access Fund 235 Summit
Avenue, Fort Washington, Pa. 19034 would be appreciated.
