Eirlys E. Lewis, 72 died
Wednesday at her home in Philadelphia, PA.
Born in Aberdare, South
Wales, she was the daughter of the late Ivor O. Evans and
Elizabeth (nee Miles) Jones.
She was a Legal Secretary,
employed by Harris Silverman in Philadelphia prior to her
retirement in 2000.
Mrs. Lewis was a member of
Welsh Society of Philadelphia where she served as a member
of the Board of Stewards and was the recipient of the Robert
Morris Award, Cambrian Society of the Delaware Valley where
she was a Past President. She was a distinguished soprano
soloist and performed with the Northeast Oratorical Society
of Philadelphia for over 30 years and in the chorus of the
Lyric and Grand Opera Company of Philadelphia. She was a
member of St. Michael the Arc angel Anglican Church in Bala
Cynwyd, Pa.
She is survived by her
beloved Husband William F. Lewis, she was the devoted mother
of Gethin D. Lewis and his wife Susan of Philadelphia, PA.
and Megan L. Phillips and her husband Brian of North Wales,
PA also survived by her sister Audrey E. Patch of
Warrington, PA.
Relatives and friends may
call Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and Monday 9:30 to 10:30 AM
at the Anton B. Urban Funeral Home, 1111 S. Bethlehem Pike,
Ambler, and Requiem Eucharist at 11:00 AM in Trinity
Episcopal Church, Ambler. Interment will be in Whitemarsh
Memorial Park, Prospectville.
