‘Mac’ MacKinlay
Allan ‘Mac’ MacKinlay, 81,
of Maple Glen, Pa.
died June 9, 2007 of complications from
Parkinson’s disease at Brighton at Ambler Nursing Home.
A native of Mahanoy City, Schuylkill County, Pa., he was a World
War II U.S. Navy veteran serving 2 ˝ years on a troop transport
in the Pacific Theater, Atlantic Theater, and Philippine
Liberation, earning the Victory Medal.
‘Mac’ was the owner of an automobile repair shop in Chestnut
Hill, Philadelphia, PA for more than 40 years. He had
significant interests as a lover of the outdoors, hunting,
fishing, and photography. Many wonderful times were spend at
‘Tall Timbers’ his Pocono home. He traveled throughout the
United States and Europe. He was a member of the Fort Washington
Historical Society with headquarters at historic Clifton House.
In addition to his beloved wife Betty (Ryan) MacKinlay, he is
survived by three children: Ann (Mark) Valentine of Michigan,
Claire (Josh) MacKinlay Blustein and Allan John (Jean)
MacKinlay, both of Maple Glen, a brother William MacKinlay of
Rehoboth, Mass., nephew retired Colonel William MacKinlay of
Stoughton, Mass. In addition he has six grandchildren: Kate and
Grace Valentine, Rachael Blustein, Scott, Patrick, and Sarah
MacKinlay.
Relatives and friends are invited to call after 10:00 AM Tuesday
June 12, 2007 At St. Alphonsus Church Conwell Dr. Maple Glen,
pa. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 11:00 AM . Interment St. John
Neumann Cemetery Chalfont, Pa.
