Horace Russo, 88 of the Dock

Mt. Pleasant Ave. in Ambler died Thursday
at Chestnut Hill Hospital Philadelphia, PA.
Born in
Philadelphia, PA,
he was the son of the late Salvatore and the late Angelina (nee
Arico) Russo.
He was a graduate of
South
Philadelphia
High School class of 1939 and
Pennsylvania Military College Class of 1943 where he played Football
and was an All American Tight End.
In 1943 he started his career with
Merck Sharp & Dome in West
Point, Pa
as a Medical Research Biologist and was recognized as a Who's Who in
American Science. While at Merck he was instrumental in the
organization of the Merck Sharpe & Dome Federal Credit Union. Mr.
Russo retired in 1981. He was a member of the Notre Dame Council #
3843 of the Knights of Columbus where he was Past Grand Knight in
1980 & 81 and was recognized as Knight of the year in 1978-79. He
was a long time active member of St. Anthony of Padua R C Church in
Ambler where he served as an Usher and Eucharistic minister.
He is the Beloved husband of Lucia J.
(nee D’Alessandro) Russo he was the devoted father of Wayne (Cheryl)
Russo of Warrington, PA. , Cecelia R (Bill) Howard of Hamilton, NJ
and Lois A Russo of
Hatfield,
PA.

Wednesday Sept. 19, 2007 from 9:00 AM-10.30 AM at St. Anthony of
Padua Church Forest Ave. & Hendricks St. Ambler with a Funeral Mass
at 10:30 AM. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery., Ambler.
