Joseph L. Rutledge

Joseph L. Rutledge, 76 of Souderton and formerly of Ambler, died Friday in the Peace River Regional Medical Center Port Charlotte, FL.

Born in Washington, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph L.  and the late Margaret G. (nee Ford) Rutledge.  Mr. Rutledge was preceded in death by his wife Theresa R. (nee Gleason) Rutledge in 2002. He served in the Us Army from 1951 to 1955 during the Korean War.

He was a graduate of St. Joseph's Preparatory School in Philadelphia and Georgetown University Class of 1959.

He was a Vice President of Sales, employed by Smith, Kline, Beckman in Philadelphia for over 25 years prior to his retirement in 1987.

Mr. Rutledge was a former member of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Ambler.

He is survived by his Son Joseph L. Rutledge, Jr. of Phoenixville, PA, and his daughters Mary Ellen Eshelman of Mohnton, PA and Tracy A. Catlin of Schwenksville, PA. He was also survived by His loving grandchildren Andrew, Sam, Grace, and Katie and his companion A. Claire Bimson of Souderton, PA. 

Relatives and friends may call Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Church Forest Ave. & Hendricks St., Ambler with a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM with Rev. Msgr. Stephen P. McHenry, Pastor as Celebrant.  Interment will be Private.
