Susan E. “Sue” Coombs

Susan E. “Sue” Coombs, 65, of Fort Washington PA, died Saturday in the Hospice Unit of Abington Memorial Hospital in Abington, PA. 

Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Clifford E.  and Mary E. (nee Frank) Carlson.

She was a member of Upper Dublin High School Class of 1962.

She was a Head Chef and catering and Event planner at Arcadia University in Glenside for 15 years she also worked at the extended day care at New Horizons Montessori School in Ft. Washington. She will be fondly remembered for her creative mind and hands.

Mrs. Coombs was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her husband James W. Coombs, III of Fort Washington, PA, her daughter Kimberly (David) Griffith of Hatfield, PA and son Benjamin (Poppy) Coombs of Glassboro, NJ

Sue was predeceased by her  son and daughter in law James W. IV and Ley Coombs in 2006. She was the loving Grandmother of  David, Taylor, Kyle and Alyssa, and sister of Stephen E. Carlson of Roslyn, PA.

Relatives and friends may call Friday from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church Spring and Summit Avenues, Fort Washington with a Memorial service at 6:00 PM with the Rev. Frank Sayford, Pastor officiating. 

Remembrances in her name to Arthritis Foundation, Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter, Bourse Building - 111 S. Independence Mall East, Suite 500, Philadelphia, PA 19106 would be appreciated by the family.
