Anthony “Spots” Decembrino
Anthony
“Spots” Decembrino, 83, passed away May 27, 2008. He is
preceded in death by his wife of 57 years Frances I (nee
Gambino) and son Anthony J. Decembrino.
He was born August
21, 1924 to Teresa (Minio) and Frank Decembrino of Ambler. He
served his country in Europe in the Army during World War II and
was awarded a Purple Heart.
Spots was a
lifelong resident of Ambler. He worked for over 40 years for
Nicolet Industries in Ambler. He was a member of the St.
Alphonsus Senior Citizen’s Group, the Sons of Italy Lodge No.
543 in Ambler, and the VFW Lodge No. 4640 also of Ambler.
He loved spending
time with his family, playing golf and cards with friends,
tinkering in his basement workshop, and was an avid Eagles,
Phillies, and Flyers fan. Pop-pop loved spending the holidays
surrounded by his children, granddaughters, and great-grandson.
He is survived by
his children, Thomas Decembrino and his wife Krista of Ambler,
Donna Kreamer and her husband Bob of Ambler, Paul Decembrino and
Summer Stracco of Albrightsville, PA, Lisa Coulton and her
husband Michael of North Wales, granddaughter Tarin Cataldo and
her husband Paul of Devon, granddaughters Christine Kreamer and
Kelly Kreamer of Ambler, granddaughter Meghan Coulton, and
great-grandson David Cataldo.
Also surviving is
his brother Frank Decembrino of Rockledge. Siblings preceding
him in death were Salvatore, Grace, Mary, Helen, Caroline, Eva,
and Dorothy.
Relatives and
friends are invited to call after 9:00 AM Monday June 2, 2008 at
St. Anthony of Padua Church Forest Avenue, 7 Hendricks St.
Ambler, PA followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10:30
AM. Interment Rose Hill cemetery in Ambler. In lieu of
flowers, donations can be made to the Decembrino Family Memorial
Scholarship Fund at the North Penn Valley Boys and Girls Club,
PO Box 103, Lansdale, PA 19446.
