Robert T. Douglas, 94 of Ambler PA., died Monday in the
Silverstream Nursing Home Springhouse, PA after a brief stay.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late George
and Nancy (nee Johnson) Douglas. Mr. Douglas was preceded in
death by his wife Marguerite M. Douglas (nee O'Donnell) in
2006. He US Army veteran.
Mr. Douglas was a baker who along with his wife operated
Douglas Bakery at Ontario & Ella streets In Philadelphia for 18
years. After closing the bakery he went to work for the
Pennsylvania School for the Deaf in Philadelphia prior to his
retirement in 1976.
Mr. Douglas was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church in
Ambler.
He is survived by his daughters Virginia T. (Tony) Chiodo of
Ambler, PA. and RoseMarie (Lester) Jenkins of Ambler, PA and his
son Robert (Roe) Douglas of Mt. Ephraim, NJ.
He was the loving grandfather of 9 and great grandfather of
6.
Relatives and friends may call Friday from 9:00 to 10.30 AM
at St. Anthony of Padua Church Forest Ave. and Hendricks St.
Ambler with a Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM with Rev. Msgr. Stephen
P. McHenry pastor as Celebrant. Interment will be in Holy
Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham, PA.
