John A Schoppe

John A Schoppe, 64 died unexpectedly Tuesday at his home in Blue Bell, PA. 

Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of John L. Schoppe of E. Norriton, PA and the late Sylina (nee Walton) Schoppe.

He served in the US Army from 1963 to 1966 and served in Vietnam.

He was a bookkeeper- accountant for Pitcairn Inc. in Jenkintown for 27 years and retired in 1994. After retirement he operated John A. Schoppe House Painters until the time of his death.

Mr. Schoppe was a member of VFW Post # 676 in Glenside and former member of the Abington Fire Company. He was a life member and past president of the Third District Fire Company in Bristol and was a past president, treasurer and current Vice President of the Centre Square Fire Company.

In addition to his father He is survived by his wife D. Lynne (nee Morgan) Schoppe, his sons Jeffrey A. (Megan) Schoppe of Towamencin, PA and David C. (Anna) Schoppe of Blue Bell, PA. He was the loving grandfather of Brynne, Nicolas, Ryan, Anthony, Carmen and Kirstyn. He is also survived by his sister Joan (Tom) Morello of E. Norriton, PA. 

Relatives and friends are invited to call Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and Monday 9:00 to 10:00 AM at the Anton B. Urban Funeral Home 1111 S. Bethlehem Pike, Ambler, with a Funeral Service at 10:00 AM with the Rev. Herb Phillips Officiating.  Interment will be Private. 

Remembrances in his name to Centre Square Fire Company, 1298 Skippack Pike, Blue Bell, PA 19422 would be appreciated by the family.
