Edward Joseph Spodobalski

Edward Joseph Spodobalski D.O. 90, of Lower Gwynedd and Philadelphia passed away at Springhouse Estates on June 19, 2008. 

Born in Philadelphia he was a physician graduating from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1943. 

Raised in Fishtown he returned to that neighborhood to raise his family and practice medicine.  He retired in 1987 still tending to patients and making house calls throughout the city.  He travelled extensively and enjoyed sharing these adventures with his family.  His pride was his garden and his passion was golf.  He was a member of the Torresdale-Frankford CC for more than 50 years. 

He was a devoted husband of Mary (Holt) and the late Rose (Bokora).  Beloved father to his son Edward and his wife Norma and daughters Frances Martin, Barbara DeHaven and her husband Joseph, and Carol.  He delighted in is five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. 

Family and friends are invited to call after 9:00 AM Monday at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 259 Forest Ave. Ambler, PA 19002.  Funeral Mass 10 AM.  Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be sent in Edward’s name to St. Anthony’s Church at the above address.
