Miriam B. Van Sant
Miriam B. Van Sant, age 101, died Sunday
in the Spring House Estates Springhouse, PA where she has been a
resident since 1977. Prior to her moving to the Estates she was a
resident of the Chestnut Hill Section of Philadelphia.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Efenger
A. and Ida (nee Lawfer) Bartholomew. Mrs. Van Sant was preceded in
death by her husband Gilbert Van Sant.
She was a Clerical Secretary for the Presbyterian Ministers Fund
insurance in Philadelphia prior to her retirement at age 62. During
WW II she knitted gloves and scarves for the soldiers and was
involved in doing charitable work knitting and crocheting blankets
for poor children abroad, as well as afghans for the needy. She
loved to read and do word puzzles.
Mrs. Van Sant was the devoted mother of Carol A. Boyer and her
husband Tom of Princeton Junction, NJ and Barbara V. Weber and her
husband Mark of Punto Gorda, Fl. She is also the loving Grandmother
of 5 and Great Grandmother of 2.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Graveside service 11:30 AM
Tuesday March 4, 2008 at Hillside Cemetery Susquehanna Road Roslyn,
PA with the Rev. Craig Bartholomew Officiating.
