Urban Funeral Home Secures Grant for

The Center for Loss and Bereavement

Skip and Dolores Urban of the Anton B. Urban Funeral Home in Ambler recently presented a $1500.00 grant check to Shirley Elrod, Co-founder and Executive Director of The Center for Loss and Bereavement. Funds will be used to support Nello’s Corner which is a unique, high quality program, offering grief support to children and their families who have experienced the death of an immediate family member.

“We were happy to sponsor Nello’s Corner and partner with the York Children’s Foundation. Our Funeral Home was built as a private residence in 1886 by George and John Thomas. Upper Dublin Township bought the home in 1946. It remained the as the Township Building until 1963 when the Township moved to its current location on Loch Alsh Avenue. Anton and Trudy bought the building from the township and turned the home into both their private residence and the Anton B. Urban Funeral Home. See more Upper Dublin and Ambler history.
