David Wallace Coughlin Jr, 85 of Ambler PA died peacefully at home on Thursday, January 5, 2017.
Born in Ellsworth, ME, he was the son of the late David and Ida Elizabeth (nee Young) Coughlin. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Jeanne E. (nee Loehr) Coughlin in September 2016 and his son Robert Coughlin.
David served in the United States Navy as a Chief Boiler Technician for 30 years until his retirement in 1978.
He was employed as a Hospital Engineer for the Abraham Center in Horsham prior to his civilian retirement in 2003.
David enjoyed attending the many Navy reunions of the USS Canberra.
David is survived by his children David J. Coughlin of Hamilton, NJ, Joanne Clark and her husband Bob of Warrington, PA, Carol Coughlin of Scott Twp., PA, Bruce Coughlin, also from Scott Twp, PA, step daughter Michele J. Meehan and her husband Tom of Ambler, PA and step son, Francis Kiska and his wife Carmen of Gooding, ID. He also survived by his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 10, 2016 at the Anton B. Urban Funeral Home,1111 S. Bethlehem Pike, Ambler. An 11:00 AM Services will be officiated by Deacon John Mischler.
