Joan Alice Craig, beloved wife of Joseph Craig passed away on July 25, 2017 with all that she loved close by her side. Joan, affectionately known to her children as "Mom" and to most others as "Grandmom," fought long and hard against an innumerable amount of ailments that came her way. She will always be remembered as the strong, matriarch of her family. Or as Annmarie would say- a tough, old broad.
Grandmom welcomed anyone she met into her home and into her family. Whether you were someone who stuck around for years, or someone who was only passing by, she loved you. Grandmom thought of her family at all times. In her weekly shopping trips she would always find gifts, or toys, or snacks that she knew her grandchildren and her great-grand children would love. She was so giving of herself and everything that she did was for everyone else.
As much as she loved her children, her grandchildren, and her great grandchildren, she loved her husband. A chance meeting in a bar led to a life time of love and an inspiration of what marriage means to all of us. In her final days, she repeated over and over her love for him.
There's no way to truly say good-bye to someone like Grandmom. While her chair at the dining room table will never again be filled by her body, her presence will remain in our hearts, our thoughts and our memories. There will never be another Grandmom and I will miss her always.

“Our family has been with Urban funeral Home for close to 30 years. My Grandmother, Aunt, In laws and most recently Mom have had their funeral handled by Urban. My mother specifically requested Skip & Dolores handle her funeral. We were in good hands from beginning to end. Peter and Trudy are wonderful. My thanks to all the Urbans.”
