Brendan E. Fitzpatrick, of Maple Glen, died unexpectedly on May 19, 2020 at his home in Fort Washington, PA. He was 29 years old.

Brendan was born in Delaware County, PA. He is the beloved son of Edward J. and Mary Ann (McGinley) Fitzpatrick of Maple Glen, PA.

He was a graduate of Ancillae-Assumpta Academy (2005), LaSalle College High School (2009) and Thomas Jefferson University Hospital EMT program. Brendan was most recently employed by the Fitzpatrick Drywall Company.

Brendan enjoyed fishing, golfing, cooking, going to Eagles football games and most importantly took pride in helping others while working many years as an EMT.

Brendan, very sorry to hear that you’re no longer with us. Hoping you’re happy in a better place. This world isn’t an easy place for a lot of people including myself at times. We didn’t have too many times spent together but I’ll never forget the time that mom, dad and I came up to visit and we loaded up some water guns and went to “terrorize the neighbors” So much fun for us, not so much for them! Some day we will meet again. Rest In Peace.

Throughout your entire life, you always had the ability to make me smile and laugh. You had the gift of an amazing memory and impeccable piano playing skills, which I could have only dreamed of having. Your breadth of knowledge and diversity in your studies was on par with the highest educators. You had the ability to recite every fact about the Civil War, while at the drop of a hat you could give a thorough description on how the heart beats.
Your love of science and the health of others was always on your mind. What I will cherish the most are the times we spent together. From golf trips, vacations, shows, and Eagles games, we enjoyed every second being together. I know how much we both loved the Eagles, and I will never forget our times spent at games cheering them on and giving opponents a hard time.

I want to say thank you man. Thank you for being a friend and a cousin. I feel beyond fortunate to have had you as a family member. You shared with me the uniqueness and strengths each individual has to offer to the rest of the world. You have inspired me to be the best version of myself and you don’t even know it. I know you are at peace now man, rest easy.

I love you cuz, see you again in heaven! E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES! Love you bro, fly high

I cannot believe you are gone bro. I have so many fond memories growing up from our time spent together. Whether it was going down into the Luray Caverns on vacation in Virginia when we were little, Uncle Ed taking us down to meet Aunt Mary Ann at Jefferson and catch a David Copperfield magic show, playing golf down the shore and back home, you showing me the stickers on your football helmet for making big plays, your impeccable piano skills performing Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata, and your desire to help and treat others with your medical training. You were so unique Brendan and anything you set your mind too would simply become a breeze for you.

I’m truly going to miss you Brendan and my heart aches knowing that you’re gone. As hard as it is to accept, I know your mind is finally at peace and God has called you home.

Cheers Brendan, when we meet again in heaven the first round is on you.

We are so sorry for your loss. My favorite memory of Brendan was a story Dan told me about taking Brendan to see Santa Clause. Brendan was not impressed by this particular Santa and promptly told his granddad that this guy was an impostor. This was a pretty big word for such a small kid, yet Brendan had it all weighed up and knew that this Santa was not authentic. Brendan has now returned home to his grandparents, may he rest in peace,
We will always remember him

Ed and Mary Ann,
Our entire family is so saddened by the loss of Brendan. Watching him grow up for 25 years as the spirited and friendly boy next door, there are hundreds of memories to share. But the one that will forever be in our hearts is the day in 1995 when we purchased our home. Brendan openly welcomed Valerie and Raymond to the neighborhood by inviting them to play in his fire truck in the backyard. Such sweet memories.

Our prayers are with you. You are simply amazing parents. God blessed Brendan with the very best.

Julianne Fisher on May 25, 2020

I was so saddened to hear of the loss of Brendan. I remember him walking down the street or saying hi when we walked by with the kids on the bikes or to visit the dog. I am so sorry for your loss. I will be praying for both of you and the strength you need to get through this extremely difficult time. You are both amazing people and parents. It will take some time but once the pain subsides the joyous memories can flourish. He will forever be in our hearts.

Brendan, our family shares so many great memories growing up together on Friends Lane! As a kid you showed us an incredible level of confidence whether it was challenging us to Super Soaker fights or asking a neighborhood girl on a date. As an adult you offered your medical expertise, which I still use today. We were so lucky to have known you and cherish our memories. Mr. and Mrs. Fitz, I will be praying for the family during this difficult time.

Dear Mary Ann and Ed,
The news of Brendan's passing is heartbreaking. I remember when my mother was ill, you came to visit her everyday in her hospital room. She would tell me how you would sit on her bed and tell her wonderful stories of Brendan. Please know that I am thinking of you both and that there is boundless love and prayer being offered to you and Ed from all your family and friends. Your time with Brendan is an incredible gift. I know you realize that, and will always be grateful for the way he served such a high purpose in life, including helping you both to grow, to learn and to expand and absorb your capacity to love. If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it. Most importantly, Brendan knew he was loved by amazing parents. I love you, Kathleen O'Brien Shindle

Brendan Man, I cant believe your gone. We are all going to miss you so much. I have no doubt your quite busy now catching up with your grand parents and all family and friends that have gone before us. You always brought a smile to my face and usually a good laugh to me with your stories and our discussing what was facts or just your opinion and how you always felt so strongly that your opinion just had to be the facts. You are so bright, so smart, could discuss any topic and like all Fitz men , very opinionated! HAHA! Until we meet again, Love and Peace. Uncle Michael

Donette and Joe Fitzpatrick on May 24, 2020

Mary Ann and Ed,

Our deepest sympathy for your loss. You are in our daily thoughts and prayers.

We remember Brendan as a Young 2 year old scholar reading first grade books to his Grandparents Gert & Dan and Peggy & Ed. He would say his ABCs before he could walk and then flash a Huge Smile.

Next he decided he wanted to be a Cardiologist as he wore his scrubs and Stethoscope. He showed excellent bed side manner with his patients. He would always check the waiters breathing while at dinner.

Then he joined his Dad, Pop Fitz, Uncles and Cousins playing golf. He loved to drive the golf cart thou his feet barely reached the pedals. I remember Brendan scaring Pop Fitz pretty good with his Mario Andretti driving skills.

Brendan loved all animals, especially his favorite companion Randi. He was very gentle and kind with our Ellie and DJ. Ellie will be eternally grateful for you generosity with her over protective manners. Brendan would have been an excellent Vet based on his love of animals and his vast medical knowledge.

Brendan then became a landscaper and would visit our home to show me how to do it properly after he had researched the internet. Brendan considered himself an expert on all subjects whether or not he had any experience. My favorite was his very professional looking landscaping invoices, which he expected prompt payment.

Brendan could spin an exciting Irish Tall Story with the best of Us.

Until we meet again in Heaven. Rest Peacefully and Tap Our Shoulders Often. We will feel your presence amongst us every day.

Aunt Donette & Uncle Joe (and Ellie and DJ)

As one of our longtime neighbors and friends we were with you and Brendan from the beginning. We remember how pleased you were to welcome him into your family some 29 years ago.
