James "Doug" Posey, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 16, 2020, turning 78 years old that day.
Born in Elmhurst, IL, Doug was the son of the late Thomas H. and Jane (nee Vaughn) Posey, Jr.
As a 1960 graduate of York High School in Elmhurst, Doug enjoyed gymnastics with teammates and other school mates who became his important lifelong friends. He continued gymnastics in college while furthering his education. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Marketing and earned a Master's Degree in Economics both at University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. Doug served as a member of the United States Army Reserves. He was Sales and Market Manager for Seaman Paper Company until his retirement in 2008. Doug continued to work with Seaman Paper Company until 2015.
Being of strong religious faith, he and Christine attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Washington. Doug enjoyed traveling and was an avid tennis player who loved being with people and surrounded himself with family and friends.
Doug is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Christine (nee Tomaj) Posey. He is the dear father of Erin Angelica Vaughn Posey of Fort Washington.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date this year. Interment will be in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Ambler, PA.

I had the good fortune to play tennis with Doug for the last 3 years. I am 57 and he was an inspiration to be as energetic and fit as he was. He always had a smile and made me feel welcome when he introduced me to his other tennis playing friends. I will miss you Doug and hope you are saving a court for me in heaven.

levity to this somewhat imperfect world. You leave us now, but your spirit
will always touch those around us and near out hearts. rest in peace, my
good friend, and know that we are all a good deal better just knowing your face and listening to your words.
Doug was a true gentleman in every way and I will miss his conversation, wit, and laughter.

We are so sorry for your loss. Doug is in a better place now without pain. Our fondest memory of him was when we came to Chinatown and had lunch with you two.
