He is the devoted father to Katherine and husband Mark Urbanski of Berwyn, Jaclyn and husband Howie Brown of Chestnut Hill, and Garrett T. Senior of North Wales. Jim is the loving "Gramps" to Henry, Alice, Luke and Grace. He is also survived by his sister Myra and husband Ronald DiNicola of Collegeville, his brother Bishop Timothy C. Jim was a devout Catholic and served as a lector at Saint Rose of Lima Parish for nearly 50 years. He began studies to become a permanent deacon prior to his Alzheimer's diagnosis. CandleSincerest condolences to the entire Senior family. Jim was my colleague at Unisys for nearly 20 years. He was unfailingly kind, thoughtful and fun to be around. I enjoyed talking to him about literature, cultural topics and our mutual memories of growing up in Philadelphia and the northwest suburbs. I was impressed that Jim knew a good deal about my grandfather, T. A. Daly, a longtime Philadelphia newspaper columnist and poet of everyday life. He would make sure to point out references to Grandpa Daly when he ran across them. Jim was a true gentleman whose decency inspired me to try (with sporadic success) to be as kind and forbearing as he was. I will always remember him fondly.

James Brian Kerr on Nov 19, 2021

I’ve known the Senior family for 45 years and during that time, Jim became a big brother to me, helping to shape my career and providing counsel and inspiration along the way. He hired me fir my first corporate job and was my first boss and mentor. We shared a common love of writing, literature and fishing. He was an incredibly talented writer and editor, and also a powerful reader with a rich radio voice. I’ll never forget his readings on “A Child’s Christmas In Wales” at holiday parties at the Senior home reader. He was just a wonderful man who left a deep mark on all who knew home. My deepest condolences to the entire family. - Jim Kerr
